Well, here we are. After 19.3 miles between the two of us, another @RunDisney weekend has come to an end. It was hot, humid and hellish at times but we got through it. So proud of @prvilladelgado and congrats to all of the runners this weekend! #rundisney #DLRHalloween10k #DLRHalloweenHalf
What do you do when @prvilladelgado is out of town? You grill bacon cheeseburgers and make yourself a drink. And to top it all off, you still take Asher running, of course! Just so you know, there’s a reason why you never see me pushing the jogger….because that’s shit’s hella hard! I really don’t know how she does it and makes it look so effortless. π€― For those wondering, I do ask if I can push and her answer is always a resounding “no” with a π. Anyhoo, cheers to the weekend!
Ran a few miles today as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) supporting an organization that’s dear to our hearts @specialolympicsnca and @sosocal. Our leg of the run started at 11 and it was already super warm out but we were prepped with plenty of water. It was nice to get a police escort the entire run. It made the whole experience feel very VIP-ish. π€© And of course after the run we just haaaaaad to go and get tri tip and salad for lunch. π©π³π€π½
**SPOILER** the video is long (2min40sec) but it showcases some of the good times we had down in Disneyland and Santa Barbara. The theme of the week was FOOD, DRINKS……and MORE DRINKS! ππΉIt’s pretty obvious I love that Gabe’s 21 now.
Gabe is home for the Summer and Jacob is leaving for SoCal in the Fall so we decided to take a summer family vacation while we still had everyone in the house. Lots of stuff happening lately with graduations, promotions, 21st Birthdays, etc. and it was much needed to get away for a while and to celebrate Asher’s birthday a little early.
So, the funny thing is that we intended to run while we were down there - does it count that we packed running clothes and shoes? π« Either one of two things happened here that prevented us from running - time just got away from us or we made a deal with the boys to watch Asher while we got drinks. Can you guess what happened? π It really doesn’t matter. Either way we had a blast.
During one of the days while the boys were walking ahead of us, we said to each other that it will be fewer and fewer times where all 6 of us are together. Were we sad? Yes. π But we know the boys can always come home, they appreciate their parents and more importantly they LOVE each other and crave each other’s company when they’re away. We had a joyful time together this past week and look forward to the rest of the Summer. Hope you all have a kick-ass summer too! βπ½
This is 46. Coffee, new running shoes and cake. It’s the simple things. Wishing @prvilladelgado the happiest. π₯³

Matching on accident. A little sunshine, a few miles together, and some time reminiscing brought smiles to our faces. π€
And the run is done! I have thoughts on the return, but for now I’m just happy Disneyland half is back!
Running into the weekend AND the Disneyland half marathon! So happy the races are back on the west coast π€. Disneyland…See ya real soon
It’s Bay Area Run Week! Ran a few miles with the Run Club at Lululemon (Walnut Creek) tonight. Celebrating Filipino American Heritage Month Co-hosted by @hellabaerunning. The Filipino flavored ice cream bars post run were a very special treat too!π¦#werunsocial #hellabaerunning #runcrew #thesweatlife #sweatcommunity
Sun is setting sooner. After work running now means headlamps, vests and stroller lights. Can’t say we look forward to shorter daylight hours but for now we will enjoy sunset runs π
Yesterday’s run with the best company. Grateful for the miles together and so happy the weather is still warm enough to run through splash pads.
Life has been life lately! Sometimes the things that happen with Asher (or happen to him) can really cause some lows where sitting around in pjs seems better than running. Then Asher asks for the stroller, asks to play in water and Starbucks (he doesn’t drink anything but knows it’s a “finish line” π). Knowing the look on his face will be ear to ear smiles is certainly motivating.
End of Summer vibes. βπ½
The best part of summer running? Running from park splash pad to park splash pad. Pace? Who cares. All about fun and smiles
This weekend’s long run with Asher was a mix of fun, sun and more stops than I wanted. Asher likes his snack time for sure so had to build in those pit stops for HIM to refuel π. I mean stroller life is tough, right? Still happy to get 10 miles finished.
Still can’t believe this kiddo turned 10 on Sunday! Preteen years! π©.
Up until 2020, part of his bday celebrating was #active4asher because his birthday always coincided with Rare Chromosome Awareness Week. This year is no different. This week is all about celebrating him and the awareness for rare chromosome disorders. Asher was diagnosed right before his 1st birthday with 13q33 deletion and since then many other diagnoses related to the omission. A segment on the long arm of his chromosome is missing. This kid is a fighter, walking when we were told unlikely, HIM deciding no more feeding tube (pulled it out) and now eats everything, proving over and over again that he is smarter than most want to assume and so much more!
One day we WILL bring back #active4asher however the goal most likely will be for advocacy and inclusion.
Until we figure out how to bring it back, we will keep on running.
Many of you have been on this journey with us and your support has gotten us through so many things over the years. π€. We are beyond thankful
*the last video is Asher experiencing a piñata for the first time ever. He was unsure about the whole thing
